About Norio Sugiura
I am Norio Sugiura, born in 1942, a Japanese photographer active in the underground art scene. My life work, stretching over more than 45 years, is kinbaku photography. But I also pursue the themes of women, and ancient Japan, and create works depicting strange and fantastical worlds.
杉浦則夫（1942年生）は、日本のアンダーグラウンドなアートシーンで活動している写真家です。 ライフワークは45年以上撮り続けている緊縛写真ですが、その他にも女性をテーマにした作品、日本古来のものをテーマにした作品、奇異な世界を表現した作品などがあります。

This piece is about Noh masks and a woman, a message directed to myself. The title is deep blue. My goal was to express the many stages in a womans life and feelings inside of her and I hope, I was sucessfull in doing so.
能面と女をモチーフにした作品。この作品は自分自身に対するメッセージだと思っている。暗い青い写真という意味のタイトル。この写真で女の時間の経過、女の内面が出れば成功だ。
